I can’t believe this is my first blog post since January 2021! I have made it my new year’s resolution to get more sessions posted. I love sharing completed galleries and sharing little tidbits from newborn sessions.

I couldn’t get enough of this sweet baby girl as she was the first girl I’ve had in the studio for a few months. While I always run to pink for girls, I absolutely love when parents give me full creative control over a session or request neutrals.

Parent and family images are always my favorite to capture. Sometimes I’ll ask them to pretend I’m not here and just have a moment with their baby. It really makes for those authentic, raw images! I’ve had parents cry (happy tears of course), sigh, smile, honestly every emotion.

As we were wrapping up this portion of the session, Mom requested a photo with Dad & Ridley nose to nose. I was super excited and knew that it had to be a backlit image. Converting it to black and white really makes it special.

Ridley slept so well for her session so I asked her mom and dad if we could keep going to get a few more poses. She was such an easy going baby and I just adored her.

I’m always excited when the Christmas season rolls around and for photographers, that is usually around August/September.

I was inspired this year to do something with Mrs. Claus. When I saw this backdrop, I was squealing with excitement! The kitchen background, the colors, everything just spoke to me – Mrs. Claus and cookies! And who else could be better to dress up as her than my mom!

With just a few added touches, this set up came to life and my littlest clients absolutely loved decorating cookies and eating them too!

I hope to make these sessions an annual event. I love being creative and offering unique photo sessions not only at Christmas but throughout the year.
